TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 19th edition of the national Quran and Etrat examination in Iran has been postponed, a Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry official said.

Seyed Fakhreddin Esmaeili told IQNA that the exam had been slated for the first half of the Iranian month of Esfand (late February).

He said due to some problems, it was postponed to spring.

The official also noted that more than 121,000 individuals have registered to take the exam.

He said the exact date of the exam will be announced later.

The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance organizes the exam annually.

This year, due to the coronavirus restrictions, it will be held virtually.

There will be 14 categories, including 9 in the Quran memorization section, 3 in the field of the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and 2 in the field of Quranic concepts and Quran translation.
